Ron & Ruth are both senior ostomates in the prime of their lives and despite their ostomical surgery are busy enjoying life to the full. A new video will be online shortly with some of their interesting “discussions” about ostomical life upon which they do not always see eye to eye… please post the lookalikes – These Lookalikes Basil & Joyce volunteered to be lifelike lookalikes of Ron & Ruth and are both from CASA – The Colostomy Association of Southern Australia. Ruth Horne who helps tun CASA is one of the Gastronauts strongest supporters in Australia, CASA has not only been responsible for delivering Gastronauts to various parts of Australia, but also sponsored Gastronauts to Papua new Guinea and Fiji but also one to a tot in Rio de Janeiro. Thank you Ruth for all your hard work.

Rik & Tamara both have internal pouches and need to irrigate daily. They are a reminder to us all that at a time when most children are being potty trained these fantastic ostomy kids are managing to irrigate themselves! Harry, our lad from Queenslamd Australia is a prime example at 3!

Colorectal Nurse Stoma Sue is a symbol of all the wonderful Stomal Therapy Nurses helping ostomates worldwide. Stoma Sue has only a little free time from assisting her patients and helping the love of her life, Dr Russell Chartwell (the Doc), Chief Bellybuttonologist to all The Gastronauts. She likes to jog and has an alternate outfit underneath her nurses’ uniform.

Top Sergeants BJ & William BV Stoma are also now available. These brave soldiers returned home injured in the line of duty, unfortunately they both needed ostmical surgery and have external stomas. A full history of their heroic deeds is supplied along with links to many charities in various countries providing much needed support for injured veterans.  Thanks are due to Lt.Col Justin Blum who asked us to help design a wounded soldier Gastronaut to support the campaign to provide advice and help to returning injured US soldiers.  He also helped to select the names and we should explain that the “J” in BJ is in recognition of his own long decorated military career and now, as a very active military ostomate!

The Witch – Ellie Ostomy – is a reformed character, upon learning that her diet had caused her to need ostomical surgery, Ellie had to give up her cauldron and her favourite dishes of deep fried slugs, toad-spawn soup and weeds-on-toast and change her eating habits quite drastically. Ellie is now available complete with ostomy and comes complete with “magic” recipes for a super rehydration drink (courtesy of St, Mark’s abdominal hospital) and another for Marshmallows (that magically thicken output for ileostomates). Both recipes are very simple and are recommended for any youngster over 7 with supervision from a parent. A special link to a wonderful magic site is also provided.

Amots  -   This is our new video star coming to our screen very soon. Amots represents the first ever ostomate from the surgical records in hieroglyphs found at the time of King Tutankhamen.   We have brought him back from the Afterlife to learn about modern ostomy surgery and Appliances. An Amots Jnr, Bony Parts, complete with an ostomy, his name in hieroglyphs and a link to a special Egyptology site will be available very soon.
